Interpretation of Ending

In my opinion Lois Lowery ended the book good because she left the ended open for the reader to think. she made the ended to whatever the reader wanted it to end.so if you wanted Jonas to die you can end the book of him dieing but the ending of the book is up to the reader.

But if i was Lois Lowery  i would've ended the book of Jonas letting the memories into the community everybody would know about the stuff that could've known so everyone could know what they been missing.

character

Asher is Jonas best friend he is a Eleven going on twelve. Asher is a kid who stays in trouble. He was assigned Director of Recreation.
Jonas is a eleven year old then becomes a twelve. He gets the assignment of the receiver of memory. He as a mother, father and his sister named lily. After his training he has learned new knowledge of colors and emotions. Also he has a best friend named Asher. Also a close friend named Fiona.

Theme

The theme in the book The Giver is sameness. It is sameness because everybody has to look the same. In the community everybody has to look the same as they get older. For example when you are seven you have to wear jackets with front-buttons to show interdependence. Also when you turn nine you get you bicycle to show that you can get around.
